Decorating with MacKenzie-Childs

Hello friends!

It’s been a while and I’m so excited to share a new blog post with you all! Ever since Malick and I have moved into our new home, I’ve been consumed with decorating the place! It’s so much fun to look for fun and bold pieces to add to each room, but it is also a daunting task! There are lots of companies out there showcasing different styles, and I am going to highlight how MacKenzie-Childs eye catching pieces were the perfect fit for our home.

I started off by decorating the living room; it’s where we hang out and lounge every day, so I made it first priority. By adding in some black and white Palampore Pillows as accent pillows to match the art work, it brought together the rest of the decor. I must say it paired effortlessly! These pillows are two-sided, one side being a floral design and the other with black polka dots. Another piece I added to this room was the Winter Bouquet Room Diffuser and I can easily say I am OBSESSED with this room diffuser. Not only does it look sophisticated and elegant with its sleek patterned design and crisp black color, but it smells absolutely amazing!

Next, I worked on the kitchen because well, the kitchen is also used on a daily basis! The kitchen is also a place where people get together and where we would typically host, and that is another reason we spiced it up with some Mackenzie-Childs pieces. I wanted serving dishes that really POPPED and the MacKenzie-Childs Three Tier Sweet Stand and the Cheese Course does just that! You can’t go wrong with the black and white Courtly Check print, and it pairs so well with these Sweetbriar Small Bowls and Mugs. Another staple I needed in the kitchen was a tea kettle, but not just any tea kettle. Since this is a piece I leave out on the stove, I wanted it to really pull in the decor of the kitchen which is mainly white with touches of gray. I stuck within the Courtly Check family and chose this gorgeous Courtly Check Enamel 3 Qt. Tea Kettle with Bird! I mean, how pretty does it look in my kitchen? It makes making my morning coffee that much sweeter! All this new kitchenware makes me so excited to host dinner parties!

When the Mackenzie-Childs team came to Chicago earlier this year, they had the most gorgeous decor at the event using the Crazy Daisy Rug! Right then and there I told myself that I would be using this gorgeous rug for my upcoming baby shower, and I did just that! Yes, given the pandemic I wasn’t able to have the full-blown baby shower I had wanted, but we were able to throw a drive-by baby shower and used this gorgeous rug for the decor! I was so happy with the boho themed decor and how well the rug fit the theme. I even used my Palampore Pillows to tie in the look! Planning to use this rug in the house, maybe for the family room or the basement!

The exotic prints offered at MacKenzie-Childs are endless and now I can see why so many people are obsessed with this brand. If you haven’t seen their holiday decor (Halloween, Christmas, Easter) then you in for a treat. I am so excited to decorate our new front porch this holiday season with some fun and exciting pieces! I have linked all of my Mackenzie-Childs pieces in my home below! I’d love to hear if you have any favorites and what Mackenzie-Childs items are in your home!

Have a great week, friends!
