Best of Both Worlds: City Life, Suburban Living

Buckingham Place Apartments is in a perfect centralized location. We are near Mt. Prospect, Arlington Heights and Park Ridge. Being centrally located gives us many options to venture outside of our place, but to be honest we are homebodies and love spending lots of time in our apartment and building.

There are plenty of restaurants in the area with multiple cuisines to choose from, so dining out for delicious food is not a problem. One of our absolute favorite Italian restaurants in all of the Chicago-land area is steps away from Buckingham Place Apartments, Via Roma. How exciting! It is the only Italian restaurant in all of the Chicagoland area that reminds us of the food and atmosphere we experienced in Italy. It’s very quant and the portions are huge; making it very traditional and family style like. I also recently discovered the cutest coffee shop, Around Café, in Arlington Heights – an 8-minute drive from us. You all know I am always on the hunt for an Instgrammable cafe, and this café is just that! Not to mention their coffee is delish and they also offer boba! My go to coffee is the chai latte with almond milk, no foam, and extra hot. Another great fast casual restaurant with grab and go style burgers is Paradise Pup. It’s only about a 6-8 minute drive from us and there is ALWAYS a line out the door. Although you have to wait, this burger joint does not disappoint. It was featured on the Food Network TV show, Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. This hole in the wall spot is one you aren’t going to want to miss.

You all know that I am usually in the city for multiple events every week. Working all the way in Vernon Hills and driving to the city is a dreadful drive; this was the main reason we left downtown to find a place in the suburbs in the first place. On days when I have work and events, I will hop on the Metra and be in the city within 35 minutes!

Before I would spend three hours in the car every single day; an hour driving to work and up to two hours home depending on the traffic. After a certain point we decided that was it, and I couldn’t do it anymore. I even started getting sciatica in back and legs from sitting in car for so long. Now my commute to work is only 30 minutes, making Buckingham Place Apartments right in the middle of both work and the city! I don’t know about you, but that is a great alternative to sitting in traffic 😊. With all the extra time saved now, I have so much more time to do other things like cook, go to the gym, blog, etc. I love using my time effectively now. Malick also goes to the city for work occasionally, and the quick commute downtown on the Metra is an added bonus for both of us!

We are huge movie fanatics and honestly have to watch the newest blockbusters. When we aren’t cozied up on our couch watching a movie, or in the amazing movie theater in our building, we are on our way to a movie theater. There are 9 different theaters in the area to choose from! There are also some great shopping malls not to far from our apartment building. Old Orchard Mall is about a 15-minute drive and Woodfield Mall is also about a 15-minute drive away, also.

All and all, Buckingham Place Apartments gives us the best of both worlds; spending time in the beautiful city while relaxing in a posh suburban building in a great location!
