As most of my readers may know, I recently cut my hair. Although I love the cut, I felt like something was still missing and wanted to try something new. Naturally, it was time to color my hair. Like most, I was hesitant to try something new, let alone try out a new salon. Then I came across a precious gem, George the Salon, located right in the heart of downtown Chicago across the street from Barney’s New York and next to Vera Wang. Upon arriving I was instantly greeted and asked if I wanted any refreshments. Everyone was so lively and there was excitement in the air. I’ve tried my handful of salons previously, but never with such prompt service. Immediately I knew I would be in good hands.
My colorist’s name was Sarah and we decided to do a combination of the ombre and balayage hair color styles, also known as flamboyage. The flamboyage turned out perfectly for the upcoming Fall months! Next I met Lauren, my stylist. She worked her magic by blowing drying and styling my hair with subtle curls. Both Sarah and Lauren were very friendly and attentive by answering all of my questions and requests. Trust me when I say my hair could never look this good if I were to do it. To be completely honest, there hasn’t been a previous salon experience where I felt this put together upon leaving.
Funny thing was that as I left the salon, right away I could tell that people were taking notice to my new hair. At first I thought maybe it was all in my head, but then I received two compliments back to back within one city block; both about how nice my hair looked.
