Road Trip with LEXUS

The highlight of my week was being able to drive the new 2018 Lexus RX 350L AWD. Driving this car gave me a new found love for driving. I’ve always heard the term “smooth drive,” but never really experienced it, until now.

Last weekend Malick and I had the pleasure of attending the Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation’s Food and Wine Gala in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The event was hosted by Lexus, so yes, you bet we drove the Lexus up to the gala. Usually I never get behind the wheel when we take road trips, but this time was different. I didn’t want to hand the wheel over to Malick. In fact on our way home, we faught over who would drive the car home, haha.

We stayed at the Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee and it was like entering a Parisan palace. The interior of this hotel was simply breathtaking. Take a look for yourselves (images above). The hotel was centrally located in downtown Milwaukee and the Vince Lombardi Food and Wine Gala took place at this beautiful hotel. This year celebrated the 15thanniversary and the turn out was great with over 700 guests. The Gala was a semi-formal event, which was nice because eating is a lot easier when you don’t have to wear a ball gown! The event featured delicious gourmet food samples from a wide variety of 4 and 5-star restaurants. Malick’s favorite item was the braised short ribs and mine was the delicious tuna tartare. We left with full bellys and had the best night’s sleep. In the morning we had a delicious breakfast at The Cafe in the hotel.

On our way back to Chicago, we made a pit stop at The Mars Cheese Castle for some infamous Wisconsin cheese curds! It was my first time trying cheese curds and they were actually really tasty. As a cheese lover, Malick was surprised I had never had one before. He liked them plain, while I preferred them with some marinara sauce. The drive home was scenic with all the fall colors on the trees. We decided to make a quick stop at The Seven Bridges Trail to take in all the Autumn beauty. This was a short little trip, but since it’s a short drive from Chicago, I would definitely come back for a weekend.

This Lexus RX was such an easy car to drive and the features were amazing. If you had a car next to you, the blindspot monitoring let you know. If you your were not in your lane, the car’s lane assist feature beeped to make you aware of it. Syncing my phone through the car’s CarPlay was easy, and lets just say Malick and I jammed out to a couple of our favorite old school jams, haha! I drove the car around for a week and saying goodbye was hard. When I decide to buy a new car, I will definitely be considering the 2018 Lexus RX 350L AWD! Thank you Lexus for such a fun little weekend getaway with the hubs, and thanks for making my daily drive more enjoyable!

XOXO,

Farheen
