15 Most Instagrammable Places in Paris

Although there are beautiful and scenic spots on every corner in Paris, I am listing out my absolute favorite 15 locations that make for the most Instagram worthy pictures! Have you been to Paris? Is there anything on the list that I missed? Leave a comment and I’d love to hear about it!

  1. Le Café Marley: Not only do you get amazing service at this café and get to enjoy a delicious chocolate croissant with a cup of Parisian coffee, but you get the most gorgeous view of the Louvre. The outdoor tables are steps away from the entrance of the Louvre and it is absolutely breathtaking. Grab a quick bite after exploring the museum or grab a cup of coffee before; whatever it may be, be sure to stop by!
  1. The Louvre Museum: Of course, it is known as the largest art museum in the world and home to many of Leonardo da Vinci’s paintings including the Mona Lisa. This was my second time in Paris and I have already taken a tour of the beautiful museum back in 2012, so we decided to take in the beauty from all of its exterior angles. The all glass architecture makes it almost impossible to capture a bad angle.
  1. Palace of Versaille: While this palace is not in the heart of the city, it is in a neighboring town that is only an hour away by train. The Paris Metro system is easily accessible on most corners and can take you all around conveniently.

Tip: be sure to keep your metro cards because you will be using them to get in and out of the train stations frequently and remember that the train to Versaille is a different fare altogether, so you will need to purchase a special one way back in to Paris.

Be sure to check out the following locations in and around the Palace of Versaille:

  • Hall of mirrors – The chandeliers and the entire room are just breathtaking! There are endless amounts of prisms and the sun reflecting against the chandeliers and mirrors. The hallway is the busiest part of the palace, but definitely worth waiting to take a picture.
  • Gardins of Versaille – walk the grounds and take in culture and history. Since the entrance of the palace has blacks, whites, and lots of gold, it is nice to view the palace from the back and see the greenery. There are walking trails that create a geometric design that is breathtaking to see.
  • Entrance of the Palace: From the golden gates to the checkered design, the entrance is a definite must see and very photogenic, I must say. I found myself lost in the vast shapes and colors when Malick was taking photographs!
  1. Rue St. Dominique: This street is also known for great shopping. The view from right in front of Café Le Recruitment will get you a beautiful view of the Eiffel Tower from a distance.
  1. A dead end street right beside the Eiffel tower on Rue De l’Universite and Avenue de la Bourdonnais. This was by far one of my favorite views of the Eiffel Tower that was not too busy. Those that knew about this street came to take pictures, but it was not crowded like you would expect. There are some places all tourists go to take pictures, and this is still a fairly new location so many people don’t know about it just yet. Like any photogenic spot, be sure to go early in the day to avoid any potential crowds.
  1. Avenue De Camoens: Such a cute little tree-lined street with the most charming and romantic view of the Eiffel Tower. In the fall and spring, you can see the trees changing colors which would make for beautiful photos. We went right after the winter months and didn’t get that luxury but that just means we will have to go back! None the less we got some amazing shots and it was hands down the most romantic location in my opinion.
  1. The Trocadero: The iconic steps with the most unreal central view of the Eiffel Tower are seen from the Trocadero. When I mentioned the touristy spots that everyone goes to above, I was referring to this. Try to get creative with the shots because although this is a VERY busy part of the city, there are ways to avoid foot traffic and get an amazing shot! The Eiffel Tower is off in the distance and you can take pictures with varying elevations, the pictures from the Trocadero are truly unique.

Across the Trocadero when you are walking towards the Eiffel Tower you will pass a bridge lining the Seine River. Along that bridge is a great place to capture some shots with a pretty amazing clear and open view of the Eiffel Tower. Although there wasn’t an Avenue de Chicago, I had to stop by and take a picture along this bridge next to the sign reading “Avenue de New York.”

  1. Palais Royal: There are tons of people riding bikes, picnicking, reading books, etc. The Gardin in Palais Royal is particularly my fav because of the black and white pillars, making for a very cool backdrop for photos! I could have spent all day here, but it was on the chillier side and we didn’t feel like getting frost bite.
  1. Café de Flore: Located on the corner of Boulevard Saint- Germain, there couldn’t be a more Parisian style café. It is a very popular location to some big names, and one of the oldest coffee houses in Paris. It is nothing short of picture perfect.
  1. The Notre Dame was one of the most beautiful cathedrals we have visited in the world. It was very sad to hear about the tragic fire that destroyed the Notre Dame on April 15th, 2019. We had just visited it a month prior. Hoping and praying they are able to restore the Notre Dame to its original beauty.

  1. Hotel La Comtesse: This is where we stayed for the second half of our trip. We booked it a few days before our trip and definitely got lucky. I would recommend booking in advance because they only have 3 rooms with a direct view of the Eiffel Tower. Imagine waking up, going to sleep, and being able to see unobstructed views of the Eiffel Tower whenever you want. The hotel is centrally located and walking distance to a lot of attractions.

  1. Sacre- Coeur Basilica: Located on the top of a hill, you should expect to climb many sets of stairs to get to the top; comfortable shoes are recommended. It is also known as the The Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Paris. Malick and I visited this church when it was dark and didn’t get to appreciate its beauty during the day, but even at night it was a breathtaking view. Ever since the city of Paris decided to take down the love locks, people started this tradition in many different parts of the city. Right in front of the Sacre- Coeur is a bridge that over looks the city from above and apparently it is the new love lock bridge! We even locked our love there before leaving :). The steps directly in the front of the Basilica make for a great photo opp!
  1. Pont Alexandre III: Deck arch bridge that spans the Seine River. What else do you need for a great picture other than gold?! The bridge connects the Champs-Elysees quarter with those of the Invalides and Eiffel Tower. Not only can you get great view from the top of the bridge but once you make your way down, you can get some amazing shots. Malick and I decided to walk the Seine River and it was such a delightful stroll, highly recommend doing that if you have more time in your schedule.
  1. Arc de Triumph: Located on the western end of the Champs-Elysees, it is a very busy tourist attraction. The Arc de Triumph was built in 1806 making it a very famous Parisian monument. You are able to go up 280 stairs to the top for a pretty amazing view of the city. Champs-Elysees is another major must see avenue in the city of Lights. Think of it as the Magnificent Mile of France. It is lined with shops and cafes. We walked the 1.2 mile street many times this trip and there was always something to see along the way!
  1. Le Village Royal: This spot boasts various art installations throughout the year. When we visited the small alley street, it has the colorful umbrella sky installation. Unfortunately, that was only for the month of April, however the high end shops and restaurants lining this narrow alley make it a photogenic spot none the less.

There you have it! My top locations for photos in the beautiful city of Paris! Let me know if you have any questions and I’d be happy to elaborate more!

XOXO,

Farh <3
